GALACTIC
ALIGNMENT
It
seems that we are on the very brink
of a 26'000-year-cycle shift.
Work by European master astronomer Jean Meuss and American shamanic-astrologer
Daniel Giamario suggest that Earth is right at the end-beginning of
this cycle, the time-marker being the solstice of 1998.
Our present solstice is not far off.

The
following comes from Giamario's article in "The Mountain Astrologer"
(Feb-Mar 98 issue), where he gives a complex yet clear and convincing
discussion of this cycle:
"At
the Winter solstices of 1997 and 1998, the Sun is at the intersection
of the Ecliptic and the Galactic Equator, something that happens only
once every 13'000 years. According to the calculations of astronomer
Jean Meuss (famous for calculating stellar occultation), the winter
solstice coordinate exactly reaches the intersection of the plane of
the Milky Way with the zodiacal plane in May 1998.
This
is the only time in the 26'000-year precessional cycle that the winter
solstice is aligned with the Galactic Center."
Giamario
goes on to explain why the Winter Solstice has high calendric priority
as the time-marker for this momentous point in the cycle.
He mentions: "When sharing this material over the past ten years, I
have found it has always been the native and traditional peoples of
shamanic orientation who most easily resonate with this information.
This is largely because they ceremonially "work" the cycles of the Earth
and sky. They know what the winter solstice is. It is the time of the
greatest density, the deepest descent of spirit into matter, the longest
night, and then the return and rebirth of the Sun, and the turning of
the year. The winter solstice, not coincidentally, has been chosen by
the current world culture (through its secular calendar) to be the most
important of the 4 calendar turning points, to mark the turning of a
year."

He also speaks of monuments in South America and Scotland, which seem
to have been built with this period of time in mind. For only now (along
with the polar opposite 13'000-years-ago point) can the rising and setting
Sun be experienced at the intersection of the solstice, Milky Way, and
the ecliptic.
He ends by proposing that all those inclined should prepare for participating
in conscious ceremony and festival to celebrate this end and beginning
of the great Galactic Year.
"The rising Sun at winter solstice is a marvelous
opportunity to receive a transmission of galactic intelligence directly
from Galactic Center, for dreaming and co-creating the next great age."
