Saturn in Cancer

a Study in Safety and Source
or How to Bake a Better Cake....

The Crone and Kronos
old ones of the mountain
keepers of the ancient ways
keepers of the knowledge
guardians of sacred memory

coming down from remote heights
carefully dipping into soulful lunar waters
of fondations, roots, borders, ancestral lines
of blood sweat tears food and drink

home, hearth, feelings, tribe, birth, return
~ all need tending to, response-ability,
shaping and effort, taking stock of, pruning,
& probably some waiting

with saturn, work and time are not 4-letter words

taking a reality check
on emotions and insecurity
saturn calls for our discrimination here
for our maturity, our clarity
some calm, please, some common sense wisdom

despite media and reality-tyrants (inner and outer)
who just try to fuel the fear

gwb is a cancer, and so is dalai lama
this is truly a moment to reflect on:
what is the nature of our fondations ?
what do we consider home ~
mom's apple pie and/or
the entire miraculous spinning globe ?
how are our roots nourished ?
where does our true security lie ?
what motivates our search ?
fear, folly, us-vs-them syndrome
OR return to sacred Source ?

what don't you understand ?

 

appraising survival, putting out feelers,
tired of the gemini bustle and noise,
saturn's got a hearth to repair and warm
a tribe to educate and tone

saturn carries the great tome
of ancient cancerian wisdom
home to us
and poses it deliberately.
this is offered to us,
it is ours for the taking

left with silent pages open
waiting patiently for us to read and hear,
the far-off song of our true beginnings ...
and what will keep us truly safe and near ~
where do we come from
and where will we go
if home crumbles 'round us,
the way covered with snow ?
icy with cold hearts
fear, greed and short-sight,
can light slowly fading
still lead thru the night ?

can we heed saturn's call
as this late hour strikes ?
this, the season of soul-survival
to safeguard the Light ...

we will be needed now~
on the home-front (inner & outer; base, fondations)
by children (inner & outer; creative, budding projects)
by ageing parents (inner & outer; other mature developments)
all cancer concerns must be addressed
in a resolute, realistic, responsible way

saturn contains & limits moody waters
and taps us on our peevish fingers:
emotions must be nurtured in psyche's realm of
rich, soothing imagery
not wasted in brooding self-absorbtion, turmoil, destruction

breathe in, breathe out

bring depth, reflexion, stability
to our fondations

and take time
to bake nourishing cakes
slow food for body heart and soul

and cultivate lovingly our shelter from the storm
