In numerous cultures, the "Cosmic Mountain",
whether mythical, actual or constructed,
assures the relation between heaven & earth,
and is seen as the Center of the Universe.
As it touches heaven/sky and is the "highest point in the world", it is considered sacred.
For centuries and in all cultures, people have seen heights
as the abode of the gods & goddesses.They have used mountains & trees, sacred pillars & poles, towers, pyramids,
temples, cathedrals and houses as a means
to reach and commune with the sky realm divinities.

These "pillars" serve also as the "cosmic axe" that the heavenly energies
can descend to reach our world.
To ancient cultures, life cannot exist without these axis mundi.
The universal pillars are always considered the "center of the world",
a sacred space that defines an opening in levels, a Passage.
These poles assure communication between heaven & earth.
Sometimes even 3 levels were thus linked:
the sky, the earth, and the underworld.Capricorn and its 10th Midheaven house,

represent at a deep level, the "door to the world above".
